Hello friends, I’ve compiled a list of meditation and yoga live stream practices that are easily accessible for all no matter location. The beauty of technology is starting to become apparent as many healers are sharing their own medicine from the comfort and safety of their own space. Now more than ever, we are invited to become curious about what it means to have a Sadhana practice, which is a spiritual practice. I will be sharing some of my daily routines, two of which are the topic of this blog: Yoga/Movement and Meditation
I want this to become a directory of teachers and healers who offer something special to this world, and the beautiful thing is that it will continue to grow. I’ve personally had the pleasure of learning from most of the teachers included, so let me know if you need help choosing the right class or teacher. But the best part is that you can’t go wrong ;)
Hello friends, I hope that you are taking good care in times of uncertainty. My intention is to connect during a time where things feel a little disconnected. A gentle reminder to the fact that we are never alone, as this is something that is affecting every single person in the world. It does not discriminate.
It is now more important than ever to self-care, to do less, and I don’t mean be lazy, but morseo to slooooow down. We are given the challenge and opportunity to fall into grace, because in reality, what option do we have? Don’t get me wrong, this is a practice in itself. Now is the time to crack open our toolbox for making the best out of a rather challenging situation so that we can keep our immune systems happy.
My yoga and meditation practices have played a huge role in this time of fiery transformation. I just completed an amazing Chakra balancing workshop, and it within this space that I found so much healing. I became a yoga teacher so that I could share this beautiful medicine. Yoga and meditation are simply vehicles to understanding our infinite nature, and the moment we remember to remember, inner space expands, and we are transformed into a raw state of being. But we don’t practice yoga to escape into the cosmos (maybe only sometimes), we practice to understand that we may never understand and TO BE OKAY WITH THAT and enjoy the ride anyways.
Love doesn’t have to look a certain way. I’m going to repeat that: love doesn’t have to look a certain way. When we are born onto the canvas of the universe, we understand that we are all that canvas. We go through life acquiring different splotches of reality, of ourselves. And once we grow older, we forget that we are ultimately still the same blank canvas. The only difference being that we have all these emotions and experiences to color our understanding of the world in this moment. How we interact with love is dependent on the splotches of reality we choose to paint our life story with.
As humans, it is in our nature to be on a perpetual scavenger hunt towards happiness through external achievement, whether personal or professional. Our Western world glorifies doing more, working harder, and smiling even when we want to curl up in a ball. There is this societal expectation to always be “on.”
Behold the Yogi stereotype: A supreme being who sits in a cave on the side of a gorgeous mountain in deep meditation surviving on air. Although this is a beautiful way to live, it is not realistic for me, nor for most of our modern-day Western society. Real talk: I listen to loud rock and roll music, enjoy festival season and certainly have a sweet tooth. But here’s the thing, I practice mindfulness every day in one way or another.
Bottom line: This city is SO DOPE, and I wanna express my gratitude for being able to call it my new home. So welcome to the first of many posts in my brand new "A Walk Through San Francisco," photo series. In other words, this is just an excuse for me to get lost in the city and be a complete tourist without anyone being able to say shit (anything 4 #Art, amirite?) This first installation was shot on World Photo Day.
Bonnaroo was easy, hard, emotionally and physically challenging, perspective changing, empowering, SWEATY, beautiful, positive, simple, and raw. Bonnaroo was everything that life is. I think we get so swept up in our complicated lives that we fail to acknowledge the only thing that matters; we have way more control than we understand, to lead the lives that we want to and to have the courage to make a change. Bonnaroo encourages wild imagination, showing us the that magic exists in the most simple of moments, but sometimes we are just too distracted to see it.
The Jam is more than a music venue, it's a safe space where musicians, artists, and people of all cultures are welcome to explore the endless benefits that can be experienced through Art.
